It's almost November....

Holy cow this year has flown by. Yesterday I was thinking back over this year and it hit me 2008 is almost over. Where did it go? It was just like yesterday that Shane and I sat in the Walmart parking lot thinking how the heck are we going to get this TV home and set up to watch the Superbowl. (since his van was not big enough to hold the TV)! Now it is time to start planning for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas. What happened!?!?!!?
So after contemplating for a while I decided that I would blog about some of my most memorable experiences this year. Month by Month as best I could remember
January: Nothing much happened this month Gas was cheaper and life was allot more relaxed. I was working everyday at Overstock. Jake had his b-day.

February: Shane and I celebrated our 9th year of Marriage and Sesha turned 3. Superbowl was coming on and the day of the big game Shane, Sesha and I headed out to find a "real" TV to watch the game on. We had wanted a big screen for a long time and finally had the money to buy one. The TV that we had picked out just happened to be on sale at our "favorite" store. So off to the first Walmart we went.... They were sold out. So we hit another Walmart.... Sold out. By this time we were all pretty tired of shopping at our favorite store. Shane said if they didn't have it at the Walmart by our house we just wouldn't get it. (yes we started at the furthest Walmart from our house). So we get to the Walmart by our house and they had the TV in stock. They put it on a flat cart and we paid for it and headed out of the store. We get to the Van and guess what.... the TV was about 3 inches to tall to fit in Shanes van. So since we know so many people in this great state I did what any annoying sister would do. I called my brother in Ogden and invited him to the game but he needed to come get us from Walmart first. He told me he had plans and couldn't make it but he had a friend that lived in West Jordan that might be able to help us out. So Brian called his friend and I headed to back into Walmart for some McDonalds. Sesha was tired and hungry by this time. And it was cold and anyway. We ate lunch and sat in the parking lot of Walmart for about 1/2 hour waiting for Brian's friend to come and get us. He got there, We loaded the TV in the back of his truck and Shane and the TV rode in the back of the truck in a Snowstorm to our house. We got the TV hooked up and watched the Superbowl on it. I don't remember who was playing or who won but it was fun with the new TV.

March: this is the month that I will never forget.... Life was going on as usual with work and home. On March 12 Shane called me at work 2 times and I am not supposed to answer my phone at work. I had just got there so I couldn't really take a break and take the call. Boy I wish I would have. Anyway he texted me and all it said was call me ASAP. So I did. He told me that they had just got the phone call that his dad had just passed away. So I told my boss I was leaving and would let her know when I would be back to work. We all met at Chet's house and started planning what was going to happen next. We called his wife and talked about bringing him home from the Philippines. Then it was decided that we were going to go there. This would have been fine but neither Shane or I had a passport. This is where it got really tricky. I called the Post Office to see if I could get a temp Passport since this was a death situation and they gave me a number to call in Washington DC to get a passport the same day. I called the guy and was told that in order to get a Passport we had to be in LA at 9:30 the next morning with a drivers licence and birth certificate and our flight information to the Philippines. So we worked together as a family and it was decided that Shane and I would fly to LA in the morning and we would all hook up in San Fransisco and catch a flight to Manilla at about 10:00 PM on the 13. Shane and I left Salt Lake at about 4:30 AM and flew to LA. When we got there the person that I talked to in Washington had forgotten to make our appointment. Just so you know you can't get into the Federal Building in LA without an appointment. So I almost started to freak out. This would not have been good. Anyway the gentleman at the counter listened to why this was so important that we get these passports and he said wait right here and I will be back. Someone upstairs was watching because they had a canellation and we got in by 10:00AM. So after we applied and they took our money they told us to come back at 1:00PM to pick them up. Now mind you this place closes at 3:00PM. So Shane and I drove around LA, We went to the ocean and tried to eat at a denny's I think. and at 1:00 we went back. So now we had been awake for well over 36 hours and we were realy tired. So we get to the window and they tell us they are not done yet. To come back at 1:30. Okay so 1/2 hour delay. No biggie. Well needless to say we got our passports at about2:45 PM and I was freaking out. But it all worked out. Then we headed back to the LA Airport. we made good time and we would be in San Fransisco by 7 and our flight to Manilla didn't leave until 10. So we boarded the plane was just getting ready to taxi down the runway and was advised that there was a cloud cover in San Fransisco and they had closed down the airport to all traffic. So there we sat on a plane on the runway. Needless to say we sat there for about an hour, then an hour flight, then since the airport had been closed we had to hold in a holding pattern for about 45 minutes. So we land in San Fransisco with 8 minutes to make our flight since our times were wrong on our itinerary and our flight actually left at 9:15PM. Any way with our carry ons (thank goodness we though ahead and put in a change of clothes) Shane and I started the mad dash across the SF airport. They pushed us through security and we boarded the plane, they shut the doors and we took off. Even before we had a chance to get comfortable. So not to make a bad situation worse but Shane and I are smokers and well neither one of us had smokes since before we left LA and now we were on a plane for the next 17 hours. We had also been awake for over 40 hours by the time we took off. It had been a rough start to a long week. Anyway, we spent the next week in the Philippines and had the burial for Blair and met his friends. It was a very unique experience to say the least. I had to go shopping at the Mall to get clothes since we didn't have time to grab our luggage in San Fransisco. That was an experience in itself. But it worked out for the Best. This is when I really started to believe everything happens for a reason. Without us having taken luggage to the Philippines we were able to get Blairs belongings home and not be over on baggage. So we got back to the US and had his memorial in Clifton.

April: Not much happened, Shane and I went on our annual Mesquite trip and this is usually a big social gathering with all the Tinners and we slept most of the time. We did drive to Vegas to visit aunt Sandra. Then we came home. I turned 32 and started to feel really old.

MAY: We moved out of our mobile home in West Valley to a small Brick Home in West Valley. I was so happy to be out of that trailor. This is a nice house it is small but it has a great big back yard. I love that part. Shelby had her B-Day. Sesha got her ears pierced

JUNE: the kids came for the summer and it was go go go. We had Lagoon passes and we went al lthe time. It was great. Shane had his B-DAY

JULY: the kids went home and Sesha went through withdrawls. Shane and I wanted to go to Alaska fishing but the events in March put a hold on that trip. Keirstin had her B-DAY. Shelby and Jake moved to Bonners Ferry ID.

AUGUST: not much happened in August that I can remember. Gas was way expensive so we stayed home and didn't do much but work.

September: It was labor day and our family started getting sick. We started working in our yard and got most of it cleaned up. It started getting colder and gas prices were still going up. I went to Jail when I was on my way to see my dad in the hospital on his birthday. Sorry Dad. Still don't have any proof of the reason: WV doesn't have any info they tell me to call Weber County and Weber tells me to call WV. So I just keep my booking receipt in case I get pulled over for that warrant again.

OCTOBER: It snowed and started getting really cold at nights. Austin turned 18. And Gas is under $3.00 a gallon for the first time since February. I was so excited to only pay $2.99 for gas I had to call Mom and Emily to let them know. It is sad that we are celebrating $2.99 for gas. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So that is my year in review. I don't remember much else. It is almost the end of the year. I can't beleive it.

Well this is long so I am going to close for now. Keep smiling and keep posting. :)
